1962 Jaguar E-Type Series One 3.8

We are delighted to offer this fully restored and immaculately presented Jaguar Series One E-Type 3.8 Roadster for sale.

Finished in its original combination of Opalescent Dark Green with Suede Green Leather interior, the accompanying Jaguar Heritage Certificate confirms this matching numbers, right hand drive example was dispatched from the Browns Lane Works to Henleys Limited of London on 28th December 1962.

The current keeper purchased the E-Type in December 2012 and as a long-term enthusiast and owner of significant and historically important Jaguars, embarked upon a total ground-up restoration and return the Series One to its current condition.

The decision to completely dismantle and restore the E-Type without compromise has resulted in the concours winning standards it is presented in today.

Entrusting the work to recognised Jaguar specialists, the extensive history file contains details and invoices which total over £200K spent and demonstrates the exacting level of work carried out.

In addition to restoring as many original components as possible, a number of sympathetic enhancements were made to improve the driveability of this exceptional example.

These upgrades include but are not limited to:

1. Ventilated Front Brake Discs
2. 4-Pot Front Brake Calipers
3. Adjustable Front and Rear Shock Absorbers
4. Dynalite Alternator
5. Uprated Cooling Fan
6. Uprated Period Headlamps
7. Full Stainless Steel Exhaust System

Where possible all original parts have been rebuilt or original style parts incorporated, and the upgraded and modified items have been designed to allow retrofitting and return the E-Type to ‘as it left the factory’ condition if required.

Together with a full photographic record of the restoration forming part of the history file, the detailed list of works completed shows more than 2,500 hours having been invested.

Having previously sold numerous fully restored E-Types, it is no exaggeration to say that the quality and finish of this immaculate Series One will be difficult to improve upon.
